SAD - Seasonal Affective Disorder

According to Psychology Today, "Seasonal Affective Disorder is estimated to affect 10 million Americans.  Another 10 percent to 20 percent may have mild SAD."

Three-quarters of the sufferers are women, most of whom are in their 20s,   30s, and 40s.

Although Seasonal Affective Disorder is most common in adults, it can also occur in children and adolescents.

It is interesting to note that older adults are less likely to develop SAD for the first time.”

Seasonal affective disorder (SAD) is a seasonal condition.  It comes and goes, occurring at the same time each year.  Symptoms usually appearing in the fall and winter, starting out mild and getting worse until the spring and summer, and getting better as the days become  longer and sunnier.
